Aspen Grove Lifestyle Center, an upscale shopping center in Littleton, Colo., plans to hold a mass canine wedding in May in a fund-raising event that will support the Denver Dumb Friends League.
The shopping center, which does not appear to have a pet store or pet boutique, markets itself as a dog-friendly center, with 29 of its 55 stores and restaurants allowing dogs.
The center hopes to attract 300 dogs on May 19 and possibly set a Guinness world record.
For dog owners to participate, a $50 donation is requested, with all proceeds going to the animal welfare group.
For dogs without immediate marital prospects, the center will hold a speed dating session prior to the ceremony. The center also plans to have displays of dog products and services on-site.
The wedding package will include formal wear (bowties for grooms, veils for brides) for the ceremony, a commemorative dog tag, option photography services, and a reception, including dog fashion show, for dogs and people.
Aspen Grove retailers will also offer participants special deals and participants will be able to enter a drawing for a $500 Aspen Grove gift card. |
