Harrods Hosts Dog Fashion Show

More than 300 people attended the fifth annual dog fashion show hosted by Harrods, the London-based upscale department store. Guests were treated to champagne and canapés while dog and human models walked a 60-foot runway showcasing the works of top designers, including Vivienne Westwood, Issa, Ben de Lisi and Stephen Webster.

Adhering to the evening’s theme—Diamond Dogs—Webster created a diamond and precious jewel collar set by Dali Diamonds, which was worth more than half a million pounds. Sexy Beast made its Harrods’ launch at the two-hour event, which was held Nov. 29.  Harrods will carry three products from the New York City-based Sexy Beast: its signature fragrance, coat gloss and the fresh spritzer. It marked the dog fragrance line’s international department store debut, although the company says it has since begun additional expansion into other parts of Europe. In addition, Harrods introduced a new dog product brochure, which will be available in its pet specialty section.
