Dav, a company that makes rainwear products for humans, has launched a donation program that will benefit the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation, which aims to aid and support the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of abused and abandoned dogs.
Cesar Millan, star of the National Geographic Channel television series “Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan” and his wife Ilusion founded the nonprofit organization in 2007.
The donation program includes Dav’s new boot and umbrella designs, Chihuahua and Boston Terrier. Ten percent of the sales will go directly go to the foundation. “Canine rescue and rehabilitation is very near and dear to our hearts,” said Kerri Sengstaken, co-founder of Dav, which is based in Oxnard, Calif. “When we launched Dav, we specifically created two designs within the line that dog lovers would appreciate. We also wanted to go a big step further by creating an opportunity to benefit dogs in need in the process.
“When it came time to find an organization that we could really get behind, we approached Cesar and Ilusion. They loved the designs as well as our mutual goal of benefiting these incredible animals.”
A Dav spokeswoman said that the company may also make an unspecified additional donation to the foundation depending on how much money is raised during the program. An end date for the program had not been announced by press time.
