RocknRollK9 Launches Human T-shirts

RocknRollK9, a pet fashion brand based in Marblehead, Mass., is making it easy for pets and their owners to dress alike. At the H.H. Backer Christmas Trade Show in October, the company introduced limited edition human T-shirts that feature some of the same designs as its line of dog shirts.

“We’re trying to promote carrying the human as well as dog T-shirts so owners can coordinate rock 'n' roll fashion with their dogs,” founder Mark Baizen said.

The human T-shirts are made of 100 percent certified organic cotton and come in sizes for both men and women. The women’s shirt comes in RocknRollK9’s “peace dragon” design, which features a tattoo-like inspired dragon connecting with the Chinese symbol for peace. The men’s shirt comes in the “12 & 6” design, which features the combined 12 string and six string guitar.

Baizen said the two designs were selected because they were the most popular of the dog t-shirts. He said he wants to gauge the response to the human shirts before possibly branching into more human apparel.

For now, he said, “the focus is really on the dogs.”

“Our plan is to develop some kind of eco-friendly coat,” he added.

RocknRollK9 launched at New York’s Pet Fashion Week this summer. Baizen said it stemmed from his desire to create a line of pet clothing that combined rock and roll, organic materials and designs that would appeal to men as well as women.

“I wanted to fill the void in those areas,” he said.
